8-Step Dental Sterilization Protocol


8 steps will be processed in 4 areas following the one-way rule, from used to clean.

  • Area 1: Cleaning and Disinfection
  • Area 2: Instrument Packaging
  • Area 3: Sterilization through Autoclaving
  • Area 4: Storage and Preservation

Cleaning and handling contaminated instruments after treatment

Soaking and ultrasonic cleaning of instruments with disinfectant solutions

Clean the disinfectant solution using a washing machine with warm water and allow it to dry naturally.

Combining the standards set by the Ministry of Health and global knowledge of sterilization practices in surgery, the sterilization protocol at Herident is a result of years of research and personal experience by Dr. Dang Trieu Hung, MD, PhD. to ensure that the dental environment remains clean, safe, and free from cross-contamination. The protocol is built around three key highlights:

  • Closed-loop process: one-way flow from used to clean instruments
  • Dividing the entire sterilization process into 4 distinct zones; each staff member is thoroughly trained to follow the 8-step sterilization process meticulously, as required by regulations. We place a strong emphasis on checking the expiration date and monitoring the storage temperature of each instrument set.
  • Modern equipment, regularly inspected and maintained.
