Why is the Sterilization Process Important in Implant Procedures?
The sterilization process plays a critical role in dental implant procedures because it is a complex technique that involves direct intervention into the jawbone and the insertion of artificial materials into the body. Ensuring proper sterilization offers several benefits:
Prevents infections
Sterilization during the implant process helps minimize the risk of infection. This is crucial for the implant to integrate properly with the jawbone without encountering issues like infections or bone necrosis.
If the sterilization process is strictly followed, the chances of the implant lasting long and functioning steadily will be higher. The implant must be placed in a sterile environment to achieve maximum compatibility with the jawbone. This ensures the long-term maintenance of chewing function and aesthetics.
Enhanced recovery process
Without bacteria causing infection, the wound from the surgery will heal faster. This helps patients recover more quickly and reduces swelling and pain.
What makes the sterilization process at Herident Dental Clinic unique?
Modern sterilization equipment
Herident Dental Clinic is equipped with high-end and modern sterilization devices such as ultrasonic cleaning and washing machines, automated Auto Clave sterilizing ovens, sterilization packaging machines, and ultraviolet sterilization cabinets. All dental tools are sterilized following a closed process according to the Ministry of Health's regulations and are strictly monitored and followed.
Sterilization area divided into four zones
The sterilization area is divided into four separate zones to control the quality and ensure safety. The process includes preparation, cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and storage of the tools.
By following a one-way principle, from the area with contaminated tools to the sterilized tool zone, the risk of cross-contamination is prevented, and treatment quality is improved.
Each area of the sterilization process is equipped with specialized machines and materials, ensuring strict adherence to medical equipment processing standards.
Sterilization and disinfection process
- Drying and packaging: Tools that have been cleaned are dried using a soft cloth, then packaged individually.
- Sterilization: The tools are then sterilized in an Auto Clave sterilizer at high temperatures. The sterilizer is programmed with specific modes and times for sterilization (60-90 minutes), and it automatically stops when the time is up to ensure complete sterilization.
- Storage: After sterilization, the tools are stored in ultraviolet cabinets to maintain sterility until they are needed.
Single-use items such as cups, straws, masks, polishing brushes, injection needles, surgical needles, surgical knives, gloves, etc., are used for one patient only and discarded after use, ensuring absolute safety standards in treatment.
Herident's exclusive 8-step sterilization process for implant tools
Herident Dental Clinic's sterilization process for implant tools has been exclusively developed by Dr. Đặng Triệu Hùng. With the goal of ensuring maximum patient safety and preventing cross-contamination, the sterilization process is carried out strictly in four zones following a one-way principle from used tools to clean tools as follows:
Division of handling zones
- Area 1: Cleaning and Disinfection
- Area 2: Instrument Packaging
- Area 3: Sterilization through Autoclaving
- Area 4: Storage and Preservation
Division of the processing areas when performing the sterilization procedure
Sterilization process in 8 strict steps
Step 1: Clean up and handle used tools after treatment
All used tools are cleaned and handled immediately in the treatment room to ensure hygiene.
Step 2: Transport used tools to the processing area
Used tools are carefully transported to the processing area to prevent the spread of bacteria and ensure a clean environment.
Step 3: Soak and wash the tools
Tools are soaked in disinfecting solution and processed using ultrasonic cleaning machines to remove bacteria and impurities.
Step 4: Wash and dry the tools
Tools are washed with warm water to remove disinfecting solution, then automatically dried to prepare for the next step.
Step 5: Packaging the tools
Tools are carefully packaged, ensuring they meet standards with heat indicator labels and the date of sterilization for tracking.
Step 6: Sterilize the tools
Tools are sterilized in an autoclave sterilizer according to an automatic pre-programmed process, ensuring thorough bacterial eradication.
Step 7: Store the tools
After sterilization, tools are stored in ultraviolet cabinets to maintain sterility until they are needed.
Step 8: Distribute the tools
Tools are distributed and transported to the treatment room, ensuring they are ready for use for each patient.
